Mixed signals from my alliance (Netherlands/Belgium).

Some have been experiencing lag for some time now, others haven't got any problem playing.

Haven't got any problems either. Like nearly everytime when these threads pop up. Guess I got a good connection.

And I remember having a discussion with someone that A.Net does nothing about the lag... And he said "what lag, I don't hear anything like that". Well, he does now.

Either way, at this point the server issue seems to be regional. People in the States and certain parts of Europe don't seem to be experiencing any lag at all, while other parts of Europe, inlcuding the Netherlands, do get massive lag spikes. This has been an ongoing problem for at least 3 months now, and still nothing has been done about it.

I'm currently pretty active in a Dutch Teamspeak (yes I know, omglolTeamspeak blahblah) server, with many Dutch GW players online. It's pretty obvious to see the lag isn't our fault as we all completely lag-freeze at the same time, only in GW and not in TS, while we're all playing in different parts of the game, both in EU, US and International districts. If it's true that there are some regions unaffected, then it's likely to be some kind of routing issue with one of the GW server hosts on mainland Europe.

The problem still is, it has been happening for over 3 months now, and nothing has been done. ArenaNET is the only one who can fix this, and while we all now they divesting into GW1, this is not the way to go. Either they should fix the problem, or shut down the servers completely. Obviously, I'm not in favour of the second option.

It would be very nice and helpful to get a response from an Anet employee on this, just so we know that they will at least look into the matter.

anet will not even release a statement to say theyre looking into it, with this ammount of people complaining, id think it should be one of their top priorities.

theyre shooting themselves in the foot dimissing the lag completely and saying its our end. we KNOW that it isnt. whether its GW servers or routing on the way to GW servers, something isnt right.

sort it out anet, even if you just say, look, we know theres a problem, were looking into it, hopefully we can resolve it for our community, thatd be fine!

Awful, awful lag today, I logged out, in LA my connection circle dot thingy was at red with the little lightning symbol while my connection was at excellent in Windows taskbar. If it's not Anet's servers how come Flyff a ftp Korean game, UT3 & L4D can all mantain much more stability?

Scotland btw

This.

Any lag I have is the result of my crappy router.

Why is it that I don't see any tracert's, any pathping's, any pingplotter graphs in this thread? Sure, it's easy to blame a-net whenever there's lag, but has any single one of the complainers here actually tried to verify that the problem is really with a-net and not your ISP or an intermediate node?

Kinda late to the party but,was playing yesterday and I started getting kicked of GW err7 and gave up after about 5 kicks with 50K ping.

Edit: oops forgot to add im in Netherlands.

Chthon is right,it must be our fault, all of us with different isp and and different locations and seeing as the issue doesn't affect any of our other internet programs (msn, vent,TS,browser, irc etc etc),it must be our fault.

Having problems myself, based in England on the Euro servers. I have some friends from other European countries also complaining of lag spikes and disconnections.

And if I tell you I'm not experiencing any major lag or disconnects whatsoever?

A few days ago I was having L/C's, D/C's and err7's while vanquishing difficult areas with my guildie.

- I'm in the Netherlands
- We have pretty amazing internet in the Netherlands
- It was not my ISP
- GW Ping: average 60 (I checked a lot)
- My guildie and I were alternating disconnects, leaving us unable to vanquish anything together

Conclusion: GW servers were to blame.

Then your lucky, and im happy for you.But saying its my/our fault when multiple people which have very little in common are having problems is just stupid. This time it probably is some problem in a wire somewhere in europe affecting some of us in EU.

But I dont see how we can do anything to solve it?So Anet as a business has the resposiblity to get solution for us.

I don't remember Anet putting down that cables over there that gives you your internet.

I'd say there would be something in the EULA about Anet not being responsible for any connection problems from your place to their servers.
